Dear friends,
the news on italian tv (RAI) just told the all the documents and records kept to L'Aquila State Archive, after the earthquake, are going to be moved to Sulmona State Archive. There are tons of records occupying about 4.5 km of shelfs. I hope it helps

Thank you for the update Riccardo.

These are the sort of things that we don't think of when disaster strikes. The administrative losses must be disastrous when you think about it. Losses of paper records of any kind in fact. Yes, we all know that these days much is stored 'digtally' and that's one plus - but historic records like those in churches - which we rely on so much and so often, can be so easily lost forever.
