this is a list of communes under Rome province. If you click on each name the zip code (CAP in Italian) will show up.

Wait this is better as you get the town together with the post code

Ada a BIG THANK YOU for those links but the poste code in Roma I'm trying to find is 00158 I thought if I found the post code I'd be able to discover the comune.
That was the post code in the early 1970s but perhaps the post codes have been changed since then?
Very grateful for taking the time to look that up for me.
