|
Hi - I have been directed here for assistance in putting together a letter requesting a birth doc (needed for citizenship)
Details:
Name: Benedetto Milano
Born: 1894
regioni: calabria
province: cosenza
Town: San Benedetto Ullano
Father: Giovanni Milano
Mother: Roasria Capparelli
I hope this is enough info.
I have kindly been given the address by member 'nuccia' and told the following - "Make sure to request he copia integrale atto di nascita for the actual birth act containing all info recorded at birth"
Many thanks
Barry

Barryhi
You just may want to ask them to look 2-3 years before 1894 and 2-3 years after just to be safe. Many of us have found our grandfathers weren't exactly truthful about their ages. Our official U.S. documents have the wrong birth year listed. Also an exact birthdate or even month would help expedite your request.

Barry, if you don't speak Italian, this is a great site that automatically generates that sort of letter for you:
www.circolocalabrese.o.../index.asp
Just make sure to substitute copia integrale for estratto (I think that is the word), which means extract.

Sorry - that web address you suggested does not allow for the entry of parents - I would have thought this would make it easier to find ?
Also does this request the Birth Act (apparently needed for becoming citizen) ?
Thanks yet again
Barry

The form requests an extract of the birth act. You will need to ask for una copia integrale d'atto di nascita. You can just add a line that la sua madre si chiamava (insert name of mom) e la sua padre si chiamava (insert name of dad). I warn you that I am just learning Italian, so someone else on this board may want to chime in. Now I have just done this to make a family tree. Some other memebers can tell you exactly what kind of document, with what kind of official stamp, you may need for dual citizenship.

You have been very helpful and I have generated the letter and added the names oof the parents. Unfortunately I cannot see the line 'copia integrale for estratto' and therefore unable to replace it with 'una copia integrale d'atto di nascita' or know how/where to insert this line - could you possibly help further.
Many thanks
Barry

"L'estratto" is an extract. You don't want that because it is just a summary of the birth act, not a full document. The one thing you should check on with another member is this "carta libre" paper. I know that it is something like free paper without a tax stamp. I don't know what kind of a document or stamp you need for dual citizenship. Try to private message ricbru on this board or nuccia. They should know if you need an official stamp for what you want to do with your document.
